Not to be lost in the Gryphon’s offensive explosion was the steady play of their defense. The pairing of Jamie Newton and Greg Franklin were impenetrable, while Wyatt Marks and Tyson Dosman moved the puck up ice with great skill and precision. Not to be outdone, Ryan Mackinnon and Evan Pahanich thwarted all oncoming attacks with their incredible strength and teamwork.

With a 2 –  1 record and an amazing .900 GF%, the Gryphons qualified for the tournament championship against their Tri-County rivals from the Garden City. In what was an incredibly exciting game, the Gryphons prevailed taking the championship by a 4 – 3 margin. Gryphon goal scorers included Nicco Seminara (2) and Lucas Surette (2) while Auguste Toscan (2 assists) and Evan Pahanich (1 assist) chipped in as well.

The Tyke A Gryphons should be very proud of their accomplishment this weekend. Congratulations boys.
