Gryphons Hold On To Gritty Road Win
The Gryphons travelled to Hamilton Thursday night for a game against the Bulldogs. After falling behind 1-0 in the first period, the Gryphons bounced right back with two Tyler Baxter goals to go up 2-1. After Hamilton tied it up in the second, the teams were tied at 2 heading into the intermission. The Gryphons kept skating and eventually drew a long powerplay.
First, Isiah Katsube banged in a loose puck with Caden Bower and Ryan Elliott picking up the assists. Then Lucas Huber converted on a Joe Marra rebound for the eventual game winner, Zac Hatch picked up the other assist. Hayden Dunford was outstanding in the third period helping the Gryphons kill off a full 2 minute 5 on 3 Hamilton powerplay, as well as another 2 minute minor.
The Gryphons return to Guelph Saturday to host the Buffalo Regals for a double header. This win moves the team into 3rd place, great job Gryphs!
