Guelph Minor Hockey Association Newsletter - March 2008 From the desk of the President Welcome to our first newsletter. The goal is to connect quarterly on the issues, events, and happenings that affect our kids and us as members of the Guelph Minor Hockey Association. In this first issue, I want to thank the volunteers of our organization. It takes many people, many hours to keep things running and make sure that our kids have fun. To this group of people(and you know who you are), thank you for your dedication and perseverance. There is one challenge though. We need more Volunteers! The Association has ambitious plans but it is always the same people who step up to do the work. What can you provide? You can give us as little as one hour per week, 5 hours per month and you will help us to improve. Houseleague and Rep both need convenors to run their divisions next year, houseleague will need coaches, the powerplay tournament will need helpers, the board will need more people in June, and there are numerous other jobs to be filled and help required. That's where you come in. Step up and let's make this organization the best in Ontario. Best of luck to all our teams! SCTA Bantam AAA Qualifier Guelph recently held the SCTA qualifiers and while Guelph hung tough - losing three tight one goal games - they ultimately came up empty. Burlington and St. Catharines advance to the OMHA finals. 2008-09 Rep Passes are now on sale! Rep passes for the upcoming season are available online now for a cost of $75. Buy them online until April 13th. Afterwards they can be bought at the door for $100. GMHA celebrates 60 years! House League and Rep parents; coaches; volunteers, you are invited to the 60th diamond anniversary of GMHA, join us for our banquet, Saturday April 26th, 2008. Update regarding the Children's Fitness Tax Credit As previously noted, 2007 tax receipts for the basic registration fees have already been e-mail to the parent who registered their child. Children's Fitness Tax Receipts for rep or select fees are now available from team managers upon request.
