DECLARATIONS:

The head coach will communicate the decision by way of email or phone call to the player/parent. This is the head coach's decision. The player must attend the first tryout at the level determined by the head coach. If there is no declaration then the player will start at the AAA level. The head coach's decision is final.
- There will be no declarations at the Novice (2000) and Minor Atom ('99) as a result of the low number of players in these divisions. There is no declaration for Tyke MD.
- Players who have declared to play in a division above their age category must email rep@guelphminorhockey.com of their intentions 2 weeks before tryouts begin.

If these conditions are met, the player will be asked to attend the spring tryouts with the older team. REP COACHES ARE NOT TO SPEAK TO THE PLAYERS DIRECTLY, and parents WILL NOT approach the coaches.
- All players "under-age" must be evaluated and be considered as one of the top 5 of each the respective category trying out.
TRYOUT PROCESS:
- The Rep Coaches have the flexibility to schedule when the players attend their tryout, depending on the numbers or whether they wish to have different combinations of AAA, AA, A or House League players at each tryout. The Rep Coach will communicate this to the player by way of email or phone call if the player has pre-purchased a rep tryout pass.
- For the AAA division only those AAA players already playing on an AAA team should not attend the first try-out (with the exception of Novice and Minor Atom divisions). All other players must attend the first skate unless advised by the coach.
- At the first tryout, players who have purchased a rep pass and presented the required documentation will be given ONE tryout card. Each card is colour coded to designate type of player. Each card is colour coded to designate the type of player.

- Coaches select the players depending on their skill, attitude or what role is needed on the team. The coaches are volunteers and put a lot of time into the team and the players involved. The coaches need your support during the selection process and during the season.
- At the end of each tryout, the rep coach will inform the players where to report next if different from the schedule. This will be communicated by way of a list that will be posted after each tryout, with the exception of the final tryout.
