Minor Bantam AA Moving On To OMHA Final!, News (Guelph Minor Hockey Association)

The Minor Bantam AA team has booked a spot in the OMHA Finals after defeating the Kent Cobras on Sunday night.

After getting past their Tri-County rival, Burlington Eagles in the OMHA quarter-final the Minor Bantam AA team was matched up against the Kent Cobras for the semi-final series.  The series started with 2 games in Guelph last weekend where the boys tied game #1 2-2 and won game #2 5-1 to take a 3 point to 1 series lead into Chatham.  On Friday night the team came out firing and won an 8-2 game setting up an elimination game for Saturday afternoon.  Kent was not going down without a fight and came away with a 3-1 win to force a game #5 Sunday afternoon in Guelph.  Kent came in to Guelph hoping to force a deciding game #6 back in Chatham on Monday night. Sunday's game was a back and forth affair with the Gryphons taking the lead for good late in the 3rd period and never looking back.  These boys have battled so hard all year and have definitely earned their spot in the final.  The OMHA final series is set to get underway next weekend against the Barrie Colts.  Let's Go Gryphons...bring home the Championship!!
