Novice Playoffs start this weekend (February 25 and 26) with a game on
Saturday and another game on Sunday. There is no practice this week.
Playoffs are a round robin format, each team will play each other team once. At the end of the round robin:
- The two teams finishing 1 & 2 will play for the Championship game on March 28 at 7:00 pm at Centennial Arena.
- The two teams finishing 3 & 4 will play for the Consolation game on March 28 at 6:00 pm at Centennial Arena.
- The two teams finishing 5 & 6 will play in the 5/6 game on April 2 at 7:45 am at the Westend Recreation Centre on Ice Pad 2.
Round Robin Playoff Ties will be broken using the following formula:
- Total Points based on 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss
- Most wins in the Round Robin
- Head to head competition
- Goal average system will be used with the highest goal average resulting in the higher ranking (goals for divided by the sum of goals for and against) * see note
- Least goals
- Coin toss
*Note: maximum goal difference allowed is 5 goals. (Examples: 8-1 score would count as 6-1 or 10-0 would count as 5-0 for GAS formula)
