International Silverstick Champions!
Guelph Gryphon Novice AA brings home the Silver Stick!
The team set out to Michigan this past weekend after an incredible win at the Regional Qualifier in Brampton against the Burlington Eagles in December. They faced 5 Canadian and 4 American top notch Silverstick champions in an incredible Mite/Novice AA Tournament Friday and Saturday. After getting through the first round with 2 wins and one loss, the Gryphons qualified for the semi-finals on Sunday morning. They faced the only team to have beaten them the two days prior, and gained retribution by winning that game 1-0. In the final game, they met up with TCMHL competitor Centre Wellington Fusion for an exciting, adrenaline-rush game that ended 3-2! They bring home the International Silverstick Championship trophy, medals, banner and the famed and elusive Silver Stick! Way to go Gryphons!!
