Congratulations to the Gryphons Peewee AE team, OMHA Finalists!
After sweeping their first two playoff series 3-0 respectively, the Guelph Gryphon Peewee AE team were set to meet the Barrie Colts in the OMHA finals!

Game one was a tough game and the two week lay-off proved too much for the Guelph home team to regain their playoff dominance.  The Barrie Colts jumped out to a fast lead in the first period, adding to this lead with three more goals in the second.  The Gryphons were able to put one past the Colt net minder in the third, however, the game ended with a Gryphon defeat and a 4-1 victory for Barrie.  In Game two we were off to Barrie, and after a scoreless first period, the Gryphons took their first lead in the series by scoring first in the second period.  This was soon answered and Barrie came back and scored twice to take a one goal lead.  Barrie added a third goal early in the third period to take a two goal lead and put the Gryphons on their heels.  A late third period goal made it interesting for the Gryphon fans, however, the Colts ended up winning the game 3-2.  Game three was back home in Guelph and with their backs against the wall, the Gryphons had to pull out all stops if they were going to prolong this series.  Game three started in a similar style, both teams exchanging scoring chances, great goal tending and some terrific hockey from both teams.  The Gryphons managed to put the puck past the Barrie goaltended three times in the next two periods, however, it just wasn’t enough as the Barrie team prevailed and scored five times to win the game and best of five series.  The Gryphon Peewee AE team battled extremely hard through all three OMHA Final games, they never gave up and played with great pride!  Although having to accept their first series loss since the playoffs began, all players deserved to be proud of their accomplishments this season.  Players and Coaches held their heads high as they accepted their Finalist medals and team trophy!  2013/2014 was a fantastic hockey season and this was a fantastic group of young players and coaches.
