Christmas Game Plan
Good Day Team 3, Black Knight, parents.  I would like to take a moment and let you know that I have a stick in my possession that was left in the dressing room after the last game.  I will bring it to practice on Saturday.  It is a black Reebok stick with white tape.

The conveners have stated that there may be attendance issues with regards to the practices and games scheduled around Christmas.  Please let me know as soon as possible if you players will be available for the scheduled games on Dec 22nd and Dec 29th.  As you know we had 3 players missing last week and it had an effect on the outcome of the game, so the league conveners would like to make it as fair as possible, and reschedule the games that may be affected by the absence of a number of players.

I want to play and don't think we need to reschedule, but if I am missing 5 players, then it may be best to do so.  Let me know what your plans are please so that we can make a good decision.

Practices are becoming an issue.  We had 7 skaters on Saturday and 8 the week previous.  It is important for the development of the players to be at practice and participate in the drills, and then use those skills in game situations the next day.  I had notice that one player would be away, and that one was sick.  Please get your kids out to practice.  You have paid for the ice and the kids will benefit from it, even if it is Kelly Shock, running a power skating practice.  If the kids are sick, and God knows, kids get sick, let me know so we can plan accordingly.  Also, please try to arrive at the arena on game days as early as you can before the game so we can set lines and go over the game plan.

I think we have had an interesting season so far, and are in second place in the division that is Minor Atom.  Each week it seems as if someone new is getting their first goal, and it is a pleasure to see how hard the kids compete when it comes time to play the games.  We are playing strong positional hockey and it is my wish to continue to work on this aspect of our game.  I am impressed with our young goaltenders and I want to kids to play hard so that they protect the keeper and keep shots to the outside.  Our goal on Dec 22 is to end the winning streak for Team 2 at 7 games.

Please keep the kids skating, either at public skating or outdoor rinks, and get them working on their stick handling and shooting at home.

Looking forward to the coming Christmas season and I will see you at the rink!
