Early Bird tourney Champs!
The Guelph Gryphons PeeWee AE team captured the Orangeville Fall Classic early bird tournament over the weekend, recording 5 wins against only 1 loss. After a win and a loss (to Caledon and Barrie respectively) to open the round robin, the Gryphons won four including shutout victories over the Tri-Count Champions from last year, HaltonHills and Tri-County runner up Ancaster, both with 4-0 scores. in the semi-final, they defeated host and defending tournament champion, Orangeville 4-2 then knocked off a talented Erin-Hillsburgh squad 5-2 in the final. Thomas Ford xrecorded both shutouts and made countless great saves in the final games. Next up for the Gryphs, the regular season starts on September 20th at home against Halton Hills.
