Minor Atom AAA Gryphons Report
The minor atom AAA Gryphs have run into some tough competition lately in SCTA league action but have battled tough and shown improvement in their last several games.
The Gryphons traveled on the road Saturday October 8th, Thursday October 13th, and Sunday October 16th and fell short to Niagara, Burlington and Brampton. The team also suffered a home loss Saturday October 15th to the visiting Niagara North Stars.

In a back and forth match in Niagara on the 8th the visiting Gryphs came up on the short end of the scoresheet falling 7-4 to the Stars. Goal scorers were Alex Rossi, Trenton Harris, Sam Black and Landon Mitchell. On the 13th, the Gryphs rolled into Burlington and left with a 2-1, tight-checking, loss. Brady Smith scored the lone goal short-handed in the 3rd period. 2 days later on the 15th the Gryphs lost their game at home to Niagara 4-0. And finally on the 16th, Guelph went toe-to-toe with a rough Brampton team only to fall 3-2, despite a late flurry of shots at the Brampton goal. Goal scorers were Sam Black and Landon Mitchell.
Goalies Alessandro Gruosso and Kurtis Abbey have been steady in the matches for the Gryphs and the defensive core of VanEykeren, Solomon, Milne, Chabot, Piccone and Conroy continue to play solid D protecting the Gryphs own end.
The busy month of October continues this week with a home game versus Niagara (19th) and the Kitchener Oktoberfest Tourney on the weekend, starting early friday morning.
