Gryphons Earn Split In Double Header
The Gryphons played back to back games against the Buffalo Regals on Saturday winning the first and falling just short in the second.

In the first game the Gryphons fell behind to an opportunistic Regals team 3-0 by the halfway point of the second period. The Gryphons then found their legs and started using their speed and began to chip away at the lead. First, Joe Marra scored on the powerplay to get the Gryphons on the board. Next it was Ryan Elliott banging in a rebound in front of the net before Jack Harper hammered home a loose puck to tie the game at 3 before the second intermission. Having extinguished the 3 goal deficit, the Gryphons carried the play in the third and eventually Cam Angst would fire home the game winning goal. Chris Linton turned away everything he saw in the third period, earning the victory in goal.

The second game of the day saw the Gryphons score early on the powerplay when Jakson Kirk converted a Brett Allen pass to put the home team up 1-0. However, the Regals stormed back scoring 3 consecutive goals to go up 3-1. Joe Marra would put home another powerplay goal, but the Gryphons were not able to find the same kind of comeback magic they had earlier in the day and fell 3-2. The Gryphons had multiple good scoring chances in the third, and goaltender Hayden Dunford shut the door, but they just could not solve the Regals netminder.

The Gryphons host the Brampton 45's Monday night at the West End Rec Centre, go Gryphs!
