Gryphons Comeback Late To Take Game 1
The Gryphons were able to storm back from a 1-0 deficit late in the first game of their OMHA semi-final series vs the Niagara North Stars taking an early series lead. After a scoreless first two periods where both teams seemed to be feeling each other out, Niagara was able to capitalize on an early third period powerplay to go up 1-0.

However, this goal seemed to put a little jump in the Gryphons. They started using their speed and would eventually draw two penalties in a row to earn a 5 on 3 powerplay. Jakson Kirk would bury a rebound from a Jack Harper rebound to tie the game at 1. Andrew Britton drew the second assist on the goal. Unable to score on the remainder of the powerplay, the pace of the game picked up with chances being traded back and forth. Chris Linton made some key saves in net, and then Zac Hatch chipped a puck to Brett Allen who would shoot wide off of the rush but Caden Bower was right there to put home the game winning goal.

The Gryphons will travel to St Catherine's on Saturday for game 2 of the series looking to take a 2 game lead. Go Gryphs!
