Late Goal Lifts Gryphons To Road Win
With a late third period powerplay goal by Brett Allen and another solid goaltending performance from Chris Linton, the Gryphons increased their series lead to 2-0 over the Niagara North Stars. For the second game in a row the two teams played a very tight checking first two periods that resulted in a 0-0 score heading into the final frame.

The score remained 0-0 until the last 5 minutes of the third period when the first powerplay of the game was handed out. Isiah Katsube drew the tripping call to send the Gryphons to the man advantage. Jakson Kirk took a pass from Cam Angst and exploded off of the halfwall to get his shot on net. Brett Allen collected the rebound and was able to get it over the goal line for all the offence the road team would need. Linton would shut the door the rest of the game to secure the 1-0 victory and send the series back to Guelph on Monday night.

Game three will be played Monday March 6th at the West End Recreation Centre, Rink 1 at 8:45 pm. Please come on out and cheer on the Gryphons! Go Gryphons!
