Ace Bailey Tournament Semifinalists
Congratulations to the Minor Bantam Gryphons on a hard
fought and fun tournament! You certainly
generated a lot of excitement. I'm proud
of the effort you guys showed and how you are putting the team first. There were so many good plays that I think we
have ample material for a great highlight reel! Friday's games were tough fought battles against Whitby who just snuck past us 2-1 and a fresh Northumberland team who we battled hard but who made the most of their chances in a 3-0 loss.
Saturday saw us coming out strong with a very convincing 3-0 win against Ancaster before going onto a very exciting 2-1 overtime win over the Pool B winner, Barrie Colts.
Sunday morning saw us just fall short of making the championship game in a 1-0 loss to Whitby.
The team played well but just couldn't get that elusive bounce. We hit cross bar off post and had a couple quick whistles that left us tantalizingly close. It was one of our best games and one to be proud of. November's tournament in Barrie gives us another series and then look out!
