Fight to the finish for the Jr. Gryphons!!!
The Tyke B Jr. Gryphons tied 3-3 today against Centre Wellington Fusion. 

The Tyke B Gryphons played strong today against the aggressive Centre Wellington Fusion. In the first period the Gryphons scored the first goal of the game with a pass in front from Nickolas Clayton to Cole Gibson for the goal. In the last few mins of the first, the Fusion tied up the game with an unlucky bounce into the Gryphon net. The Fusion took control in the second period scoring 2 more goals bringing the score to 3-1 going into the third. The Gryphons turned on the heat in the third period keeping the puck out of their end allowing Nickolas Clayton to score from a pass by Royce Lin for the assist. With only a few minutes left in the third, Colin Chate had a breakaway to score the tieing goal. 

It was a combined effort from both the Gryphon forward and defensive lines that fought hard to keep the forceful Fusion team out of the Gryphon end in the third to score. Great defensive play by Aiden Wamboldt that backchecked and stole the puck a number of times passing to the forward line. Johnathan Berthiaume kept the puck outside the Gryphon end and chased down a number of Fusion players stealing the puck. Parker White fought and won to bring the puck up the ice keeping it in the opposition's end. Both Ayden Lamorea and Banin Howden won a number of battles in the defensive end which helped to transition to offensive opportunities. Royce Lin chased down the Fusion forward line putting himself between them and the Gryphon net preventing additional scoring chances.  

Great forward play by Andrew Brown with exceptional forechecking and passing. Jacob Annis took the puck up a number of times for scoring chances fighting off the aggressive Fusion team letting them know they cannot mess with him! Tyler Kelly had a number of great shots on net and skated hard to chase down the Fusion team preventing breakaway goals. Nash Willise won a number of faceoffs and backchecked passing the puck ahead for Gryphon scoring opportunities. Cole Gibson lead a number of offensive rushes into the Fusion zone. Nickolas Clayton showed impressive stick handing. Avery Smith and Austyn Lamorea took on the Fusion team with aggressive play stealing the puck and using the boards to move the puck ahead. Colin Chate helped kill a number of penalty minutes by forcing the Fusion to stay out of the Gryphon end and taking the puck up for a number of great scoring chances.

Gryphon goalies Trenton Goode and Anderson Mau were ready and waiting for the Fusion stopping a number of shots on net. Impressive glove and butterfly saves prevented the opposition from getting passed them to score. 

The Gryphons look forward to their next game when they play the Oakville Rangers next Saturday December 17th @ 12:00pm.
