Gryphons Battle Hard Against Avalanche
This week the Tyke B Jr. Gryphons played the Ancaster Avalanche back-to-back losing 3-1 today and 2-1 on Wednesday.
It was a challenging week for the Tyke B Jr. Gryphons as they played the Ancaster Avalanche. The Gryphons battled and challenged making the opposition work hard for both wins.
Today the Jr. Gryphons were ready to take on the Avalanche determined to get the win. Despite great team play, the Gryphons lost 3-1 to the Avalanche. There were a number of great shots and battles won in front of the opposition's net resulting in a number of scoring chances for the Gryphons. Trenton Goode was great in net making a number of spectacular saves. Gryphon defence used their skills to stop a few of the Avanche attempted breakaways by stealing and getting the puck out of their end and up to the forward lines. The Gryphon goal was scored by Tyler Kelly off a breakaway but it was Colin Chate and Nash Willsie who were able to team up and steal the puck from the Avanche defence allowing for the scoring opportunity. It was well matched game between the Gryphons and the Avalanche.
On Wednesday the Gryphons played their 1st back-to-back game against the Ancaster Avalanche losing 2-1. It was a nail biter with only mins left in the 3rd when the Gryphons pulled their goalie to try to tie up the game. The Gryphons were able to keep the puck in the opposition's end fighting to get as many shots on net to tie but despite their effort the buzzard sounded to end the game. The Gryphon goal was scored by Cole Gibson off a rebound assisted by Tyler Kelly and Andrew Brown.
The Gryphons look forward to their next game when they play the Oakville Rangers this Wednesday night at 7:00pm!
