Atom AE Wins Tri-County Championship!
It looks like the phoenix (or in this case the gryphon) has risen from the ashes! Nine months ago, our boys faced the very disappointing reality, that they would have no team to play for in the fall. However, this disappointment was short lived, as we were given the wonderful news that the GMHA Board of Directors had approved a new Atom AE team for the upcoming season.
This was a very brave decision and to those members of the board who courageously supported the formation of this team, our group will be forever grateful. Ultimately, your decision has proved to be correct and we share the success of our year and this championship with you! Thank you.
Speaking of success, there was plenty. We won a tournament early on and had a great regular season. We advanced through the first round of OMHA's, knocking off a heavily favoured, first place team in the process. More importantly, we had a ton of fun along the way. Ultimately, our success culminated this past Sunday, with a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory in Woolwich, to secure the Tri-County Championship.
Thanks to the coaches, for guiding these boys down the right path. Thanks to the good families of this team, for positively supporting this endeavour. Most importantly, thanks to the players for all your hard work, grit and determination. You did it!
