Atom AAA Update
On Wednesday September 13th the Atom AAA Gryphs started their 2017-18 SCTA season off at home with a solid effort against the visiting Halton Hurricanes. Nerves, jitters and a few untimely penalties resulted in a quick 2-0 lead for Halton at the end of the first. However, the club re-grouped, backed by some solid goaltending by Kurtis Abbey, and were able to pull within a goal by the end of the second period. Tyler Chadwick #77 scored the goal, assisted by #80 Griffin Mackie.
The 3rd period saw many great chances by both clubs, including a shifty backhand move by Sam Black that rattled the cross-bar with about 2 minutes remaining in the game. Unfortunately the boys fell a goal short and the score ended in a 2-1 loss.
