Gryphons Open Titans Tournament With Victory
The Minor Midget Gryphons skated to a 5-2 victory over their fellow SCTA opponent Halton Hurricanes on Tuesday night. Although they fell behind 1-0 early in the game, Andrew Britton scored shorthanded to tie the game immediately. Joe Marra would convert an Isiah Katsube feed before the end of the first period to give the Gryphons a lead they would not relinquish.

In the second frame the Gryphons would extend their lead. First, Jakson Kirk forced a turnover and found Caden Bower in the slot who would make it 3-1. Shortly after that Logan Morrison would find Cam Angst streaking back door from the point with a pass which he would convert to make it 4-1 heading into the intermission.

Halton came out hard in the third period cutting the lead to 4-2. However, Caden Bower would scored the 5th and final goal after stripping a defender in front of the Halton net and burying his second of the game. Brett Allen and Zac Tofflemire would add assist and Hayden Dunford made several key saves to help secure the first win of the season. Great job Gryphs!
