Gryphons Earn First Regular Season Win At Home
The Gryphons got on the board with their first SCTA league play win against the Niagara North Stars in Guelph on Wednesday night. The first period saw both teams feeling each other out and then Niagara would score near the end of the frame and tilted the ice in their favour. The score would remain 1-0 until later in the second period when Logan Morrison found Jakson Kirk at the side of the net for the tying goal.

Tied 1-1 at the intermission the Gryphons started the third period on the powerplay. Jakson Kirk would give the Gryphons their first lead of the game, tipping home a Jack Harper point shot on the powerplay. However, Niagara answered quickly to tie the game back at 2. The Gryphons didn't flinch and kept the pressure on and eventually Jakson Kirk would gather a pass from Brett Allen and find Logan Morrison in the slot who would score the eventual game winner. Brett Allen then sealed the game with a late marker on a great feed from Jakson Kirk. Chris Linton made some huge saves early to keep the Gryphons in the game and contributed to a perfect penalty kill while earning the win. Jack Harper had an earlier assist, while Logan Morrison and Andrew Britton also chipped in with additional assists. Great win Gryphs!
