AA Gryphons closed September out with two more games last week.
On Saturday, the Gryphons welcomed the Orangeville Flyers to the West End Recreation Centre. After a sluggish start, the Gryphons took control of the game, eventually closing out a 3 – 0 victory. Nicco S led the way with a goal and a highlight reel assist from behind the net while Sawyer S and Lucas S added singles.
Gryphon goaltending continued to shine as Tyson MB rose to the occasion in the Gryphon net earning the shutout. Parker W and Tyson D continued their rock-solid play on defence contributing another impressive never-panic effort.
On Sunday, Guelph took the QEW to Niagara Falls for a date with the Flyers. The Gryphons took control of the game early on their way to a 6 – 0 win. Colin C, Nicco S, Avery S, Evan P and Gage T (2) tallied for the Gryphons while Auguste T and Lucas S contributed with some great passes and forechecking.
Finn P responded to all challenges earning his second shutout of the season for the Gryphs. On the blueline, Wyatt M, Ryan M and Nathan M provided a formidable defense to all Flyers attacks.
The Novice AA boys from Guelph are off to a great start in the TriCounty Hockey league, and they look to continue their good fortune on Thursday night when they travel to Burlington to face the Eagles.
