A Strong Week for the Novice AAs
TriCounty league play continued for the Novice AA Gryphons this week, and the boys were up to the challenge.

On Monday, the Gryphons travelled to Caledon for a date against the Hawks. Finn P was solid in the Gryphon net while Wyatt M and Tyson D, who were reunited on the Gryphon blue line, turned in a strong performance, and the Gryphons prevailed by a 4 – 1 score.

Guelph’s offence came off the sticks of Nicco S and Greg F who had 2 each while Nate M (2), Sawyer S (2), Colin C drew assists.

On Saturday, the Novice AA Gryphons played host to the second place Milton Winterhawks. The boys from Milton posed a significant challenge to Guelph as the game entered the third period still scoreless. However, the Gryphons found some offence as Greg F and Avery S struck for a goal a piece, while Auguste T Nate M and Gage T drew assists, and the Gryphons defeated Milton 2 – 0.

Tyson MB was his usual stellar self in goal while turning aside every scoring chance that was presented.

To round out the total team effort, the defensive pairing of Evan P and Parker W were almost impenetrable against the rush, and demonstrated some fantastic puck movement.

The Gryphons play host to the Flamborough Sabres on Wednesday.
