Gryphons Earn Silver in Brantford
The Novice AA Gryphons awoke from their Christmas slumber to find themselves in Brantford as participants in the Wayne Gretzky International tournament.

In round robin play, the Gryphons earned wins against the West London Hawks, the London Bandits and the Stratford Warriors before falling to the Tecumseh Eagles. Their performance earned them a 3 – 1 record and a goals-for percentage of .700, good enough for a second place finish and a birth in the tournament’s semi-finals.

In the semis, the tenacious Gryphons defeated the Stratford Warriors by a 3 – 1 score. Gage T had all 3 goals for the Gryphons while Finn P turned in an impressive effort in goal. The victory sent the Gryphons to the finals for a rematch against the Tecumseh Eagles.

Despite a valiant and resilient effort, it was not meant to be for these Gryphons as they were defeated by a 4 – 1 score. Tyson MB impressed in the Gryphon goal and Nicco S provided the lone marker.

The Gryphons should be proud of their second place finish on account of their hard work and their never-quit attitude.

Congratulations Gryphons on a job well done!
