Atom AA Victorious In Crucial Must Win Game
The Gryphon Atom AA's headed to Flamborough on Sunday afternoon to battle the Sabres in a game that Guelph needed to win to maintain at least a share of first place as they concluded round robin play in their OMHA Qualifying round.  The Gryphons responded with a big 6-2 victory to finish with a 5-1 record.

Landon Mitchell opened the scoring to give Guelph an early 1-0 lead.  Olan Norton assisted on the play.  A few minutes later,  Ty Thompson bulged the twine while shorthanded for his second goal of the playoffs as a call up to put the Gryphies up by two.  Logan Biser assisted on the play.  Then before the period ended, Matthew Stam lit the lamp with assists going to Logan Biser and Zac McKnight.  The score stood 3-0 in favour of Guelph after one period of play.

Flamborough got on the board on the power play in the second to close the gap to 3-1 after two periods of play.

Olan Norton restored the three goal lead on a tap early in the third to make the score 4-1.  Oscar Johnson and Landon Mitchell drew assists on the play.  After Flamborough responded with a goal of their own to close the gap to two once again,  Logan Biser (Zac McNight, Matthew Stam) and Koen Smith (Ty Thompson) closed out the scoring to make the final 6-2 in favour of the visiting Gryphons.

The Gryphons (5-1-0) currently lead Burlington by two points for first place and now must await the result of Burlington's final game to be played Monday evening.
