Minor Bantam AE Gryphons Take GOLD In Lake Placid
The Minor Bantam AE Team literally carried the Canadian flag with pride taking GOLD in Lake Placid this weekend going undefeated vs the Lancaster (PA) Firebirds, New England (NH) Edge and Sara-Placid (NY) Blue Bombers.
The team came out with a travel-tired 3-2 victory over Lancaster Thursday night, followed by a fierce drubbing of New England 7-0 Friday. Saturday morning was a hard fought 4-4 tie with Sara-Placid due to an unbelievable third period in which our guys scored 4 unanswered goals. The Saturday evening game resulted in a 2-0 team effort over Lancaster to vault the team into the Gold Medal Game vs Sara-Placid.
The Gryphons came out for the Final like true Canadians and with relentless team play took home the Gold Medal with a 3-1 win!!
Congratulations to the team on a well-earned, well-deserved Golden weekend.
A truly fantastic time in upstate NY for parents and kids alike, including a COLD "polar plunge" in the lake by the team. Way to go Gryphons!!
