Minor Atom AE OMHA Finalists
On Friday evening the clock struck midnight for the Cinderella Minor Atom AE Gryphons as they fell 4-0 in Game 3 of their OMHA Final series against the Barrie Colts.  Barrie won the series three games to none.

Once again the Gryphons gave all they had but were unable to crack the powerful Barrie squad.   Barrie got on the board with a power play marker with 2:57 left in the first period.  The score was 1-0 after one period of play.

Barrie added a second goal with 8:48 remaining in the second.   The Gryphons generated several scoring chances in the last half of the second period but were unable to penetrate the stingy Barrie defense.   The score was 2-0 going in to the second intermission.

The Colts added an insurance marker with 5:26 remaining and an empty netter with 54 second left to skate off with a 4-0 victory and were deservedly crowned OMHA Champions.

Although briefly disappointed to have their Championship dreams shot down, the determined and hard working Gryphons can hold their heads high and be extremely proud with what they have accomplished this season.  Considering that the season started with 13 of the players coming out of Novice House League with no Rep hockey experience, the strides this team has made together over the past six months have been incredible.  The attitudes of the kids and the parents were a coach's dream and this will be a season not soon forgotten by anyone involved.  The GMHA can be extremely proud of this group of players.
