Minor Peewee AA Keep Rolling Over Brampton
The red hot Gryphon Minor Peewee AA's stretched their winning streak to four games with a 3-1 victory over the Brampton 45's on Monday night.
After a scoreless first period, Guelph got on the board 3:50 into the second period when Ozzie Johnson cashed in on a play in front of the net to give the Gryphs a 1-0 lead. Carden Rogers-Hickman and Ryder Burns assisted on the play. 54 seconds later, Koen Smith increased the lead to 2-0, set up by Matthew Stam and Tyler Chadwick. Brampton responded on the power play to cut that lead in half in the closing moments of the second and the score stood 2-1 after two periods of play.
Guelph added an insurance marker with just over three minutes remaining when a wide angle shot from Olan Norton deflected off the skate of the Brampton netminder. Ozzie Johnson and Tanner Bothwell assisted.
It was the second win in twenty four hours as the Gryphons travelled to Milton on Sunday and came home with a 4-1 victory. After Milton opened the scoring, Nathan Schlitt tied things up with a blast from the point. After that, Andrew McMillan took over as he notched a natural hat trick to pace the way to victory.
