Rock N' Roll Cup Tier 2 Champs!
What a weekend for the Minor Atom A Gryphons! They rocked and rolled their way to their Tier Championship and took home the Gold!

The team travelled to Cleveland, Ohio for the Rock n’ Roll Cup Oct 19-21 and the tournament did not disappoint. The Gryphons faced teams from Buffalo, Clarence NY, and Forest Hill from the GTA. Not only were we up against teams we had never faced, we were also adjusting to different rules, with offsides being immediate versus delayed.

A little bit of the unknown and a few extra whistles didn’t get in the team’s way, they skated to a 15-1 victory over Buffalo in their first game! The second game saw the Minor Atom A Gryphons face a team a birth year older. The Gryphons suffered their only loss of the tournament here, with a final score of 8-3 for the Forest Hill Force. The players certainly held their own and played a great game. Day 2 saw the Gryphons earn themselves a ticket to the Tier 2 Finals with a 4-0 win over the Clarence Mustangs and a shut-out for both our goalies!

Sunday morning was an early start, but the Minor Atom A Gryphons were fired up and ready. We again faced the Clarence Mustangs, and this time Guelph didn’t let up. The Gryphons took home the Championship with an 11-1 win!

If this tournament is any indication, the upcoming season is sure to have some exciting hockey to watch. Our Gryphons scored a total of 33 goals for and only 10 against, the best scoring  record of the tournament. The players should be proud of the teamwork they displayed throughout the weekend. The passing, the enthusiasm, the hard work, the goal tending, they were all unbelievable.

While the season has only just begun, the Minor Atom A Gryphons have already seen some great success. This is only the start, keep your eye on this team, great things are happening!

Congrats Minor Atom A Gryphons!
