PK, Malcolm, and Jordan Subban (we'll see Jordan Saturday, I believe), Wayne Simmonds, Dustin Byfuglien, Grant Fuhr, Tony McKegney, Jerome Iginla, Evander Kane, Joel Ward, Georges Laracque, and many more. They all have paid tribute to Willie O'Ree, who was the first black player in the NHL.
The NHL has created and named an award after Willie.
The Willie O'Ree Community Hero Award recognizes an individual who - through the game of hockey - has positively impacted his or her community, culture or society.
