London Green & White Champions!!
What a weekend! What a weekend!!
The Guelph Jr Gryphons M Peewee AA team are the 2019 London Jr Knights Green and White Tournament Champions!!!!!
The boys went 4-0 in the round robin beating Scarborough Ice Raiders 7-0, North Durham Warriors 4-1, Humber Valley Sharks 4-1, and the 3rd ranked team in Ontario London Jr Knights White 4-2.
We finished the round robin as the top seeded team and drew the Barrie Colts in the Quarter finals. They gave the boys a scare when we were trailing late in the game 3-2. However, the boys never backed off the gas pedal and tied it up late to send us to OT. The OT format was 4on4 and the Gryphons put it home on the first shift to take the quarters 4-3.
Next up in the semis was the 8th ranked London Jr Knights Green. Our boys jumped all over them and completely dominated the entire game to a 6-0 win.
On to the finals against a strong London Jr Knights White team looking for redemption. The game was back and forth and very exciting. In the end our boys took home the Championship with a 2-1 victory!!!
All the boys played amazing all weekend long. We went 7-0 outscoring our opponents 31-8 and both our goalies ended up being the top 2 goalies of the tournament each recording a shutout in the process.
Congratulations to all the boys and the coaching staff! All your hard work and commitment is really paying off.
