An emotional night!
On Wednesday November 20th it was the Guelph Jr Gryphons M Peewee AA vs the Halton Hills Thunder in Acton. Typically a normal night verse a close rival but this night was a little different.

The night was different than most because it was the first game for the Halton Hills team after the celebration of life for their Head Coach Dan Curtis. Dan passed away on November 3rd from Pancreatic Cancer.
When our team was made aware of the passing we quickly came together to show our support. We started by collecting donations for the Curtis family Go Fund Me page. Collectively we were able to donate $500 to the fund. Next was our boys wanting to show their support. Each player taped their stick with purple tape, the colour for Pancreatic Cancer. On top of that one of our parents was speaking with the owners of Fleet Image and they wanted to help too. They created a purple ribbon helmet decal and printed enough for all of our players and Haltons.
Before our game started we had our boys skate across the red line to hand each Halton player a ribbon decal and to stay for a group photo to show solidarity and support. After the game Dan's wife, Margie, and the entire coaching staff came to our dressing room and thanked our boys for their support.

On behalf of our parents we're extremely proud of our boys and families for coming together for the Curtis family. Our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers are with Margie, their children, family, friends, and the entire M Peewee AA team.
