Gryphon's Extend Win Streak to Three in Grounding the Bombers
Tuesday night the Minor PeeWee Gryphon AE's traveled to Ancaster to take on the Glancaster Bombers in Tri-County action and handed the hosts a 7-1 defeat. While the final score was lopsided, the game was a tight checking battle that could have gone either way, until the Gryphons pulled away in the third.

The Gryphons opened the scoring early in the first period when Kenny Beynon banged home a rebound from two feet to the right of Bombers' goalie off a hard point shot by Peter Schlitt at 8:53. For almost a full period, they held onto that one goal lead, with Max Heroux stopping everything that came his way. But after killing off 3 straight penalties, including the first part of a 5 on 3 advantage for the Bombers, the tired Gryphon penalty killers gave up the tying goal 6 minutes into the second period. The score would remained tied until just over two minutes left in the second, when Peyton Markwood stripped the puck in the defensive zone, skated end to end, deaked around the defense, faked the Bombers goalie, and fired home the puck over his right pad.

The game remained 2-1 until with just over 10 minutes left in the game when the Gryphons exploded for five consecutive goals. First it was Conner Laskowski off a feed from Caleb Davison  who buried the puck on a wrist shot in the slot. Then Kenny Beynon got his second of the game in a scramble play in front of the net, with Jackson Byard and Nate Taylor drawing the assists. Just 30 seconds later, Josh Eikelboom lifted a shot over the blocker of the Bomber goalie from 8 feet out, with Oliver Fletcher and Owen McNamee collecting helpers. Peyton Markwood made the score 6-1 with four minutes left in the game, bulging the twine on a hard wrist-shot from the right of the Glancaster net.  Fletcher set up the play with a saucer pass from behind the net.  Laskowski, added his second of the game to finish off the scoring with only 5 seconds left. drawing assists on the final goal were Davison and Eikelboom.
