U12 AE Gryphons Take Home the Silver Medal at the OMHA Championship!
The U12 AE team traveled to Windsor to participate in the OMHA Championship Tournament this weekend and took home the silver medal!

This weekend the U12 AE Team traveled to Windsor for the OMHA Championship Tournament to battle the best teams in the OMHA!

On Friday morning the boys came out strong and took there first game over the Markham Waxers by a 4 - 0 score! After a long lay off the boys were back at in later in the night where they took on the Kingston Canadians in what would by at tight 2 - 1 lose.

With 1 win and 1 loss on Friday this would set up a Quarter Final match Saturday morning against the Whitchurch-Stouffville Clippers. This game started off as a tight game and stayed that way. After regulation time we were tied 1 - 1 which meant we would go to overtime. The Gryphons wasted little time in ending this one as they put one past the goaltender just 28 seconds into the first overtime. This would set up a rematch against the Kingston Canadians in one of the 2 semi-final games on Saturday afternoon. This proved to be another tight affair and after regulation time the teams were tied 2 - 2 so we would go to overtime once again where the Gryphons would score with 3:09 in the first overtime period to win the game and book their ticket into the Final on Sunday afternoon against the Oshawa Generals.

On Sunday the boys were pumped up for the Finals and came out strong and took and early 1 - 0 lead. The game would go back and forth. Oshawa would tie the game later in the first period and the period would end 1 - 1. In the second period the Generals would take the lead early but the boys battled back to tie the game a minute and five seconds later. Oshawa would score the go ahead goal with 15 seconds to go in the 2nd period. Oshawa would add an insurance goal in the 3rd period and would win the game 4 - 2 and the Gryphons would take home the silver medal!

In the end the U12 AE Gryphons have taken home the Tri-County Championship and the silver medal at the OMHA Championships! This has been a truly amazing season. The boys have exemplified team play all season long! We are all so proud of their accomplishments!
