U10AA win Grand Prize in "Ford Drills and Skills Competition"
We are thrilled to announce that our very own U10AA Guelph Gryphons won the Grand Prize in the Ford Drills and Skills competition.
Local youth hockey teams were nominated for their commitment to helping out and being involved in the community.
This year the Guelph Gryphons wanted to find a meaningful way to give back to the community. We decided to put together a shooting challenge to raise money for the Guelph Adopt a Family program, some players went door-to-door while others were able to ask friends and family to support such a great cause. We are so proud of our team that came together to raise over $800 to support a family of 5 with presents to help celebrate Christmas. It was heartwarming to watch them get into the spirit! Big hearts-on and off the ice, great work team!!
As Grand prize winners, the team was one of 16 teams selected as leaders in their community, and will have an opportunity to train like a pro at Scotiabank Arena just like the Toronto Maples Leafs!! The exciting day will include on ice drills and skills with the Toronto Maple Leafs development team.
We are very proud of these 17 special kids who worked so hard to win this opportunity and also worked so hard to give back to the community.
