U10 AAA CLINCH SPOT IN OMHA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Last night, the Guelph Gryphons U10 AAA team punched their ticket to the 2024 OMHA Championships with a decisive 6-2 road victory over the Halton Hurricanes. A 3-goal 2nd period and strong team defense propelled them to the win. It was game 7 of their 8-game round robin playoffs and they now sit with a 5-2 record and one game to play.
The Gryphons’ playoff stretch got off to a quick start with a win over the Niagara North Stars and then a 2-game sweep over league rival Oakville Rangers. The team also had a shutout victory over the Burlington Eagles on route to their current spot atop of the OMHA West – Group B standings.
On Monday night, the team travels to Burlington for their final game of the round robin playoffs. They will be seeking another strong effort to carry momentum into the OMHA Championships which take place March 22-24 in Newmarket.
