South Bend Indiana Tournament Results
The Guelph Junior Gryphons Minor Bantam AE returned from South Bend after finishing with a 2-1-1 record, losing in the semi-finals 2-0 to the Riverside Rangers from Windsor Ontario.
The Jr. Gryphons team started the tournament with a 1-1 tie against the eventual tournament winners, Victory Honda on Friday October 4th. Victory Honda out shot Guelph 31 to 14 in the contest with great goaltending from Liam Hunter to keep Guelph in the game. The following morning Guelph faced the Indiana Jr. team at the University of Notre Dame Compton Family Arena, home of the ND Fighting Irish, and came away with a 3-1 victory behind another goaltending gem by Austin Inglis. Guelph then faced the Irish Rovers team and again came away with a 1-0 victory sending them to the semi finals on Sunday morning.
Guelph only allowed 4 goals on 106 shots thru out the entire tournament.
