Gryphons Advance To OMHA Semi-Finals
The Gryphons were entering the SCTA qualifying weekend as the top seed in their group. When the weekend was over they had earned a first place finish and a rematch of last years OMHA semi final series with the Niagara North Stars.

After beating the Grey Bruce Highlanders 3-0 in their first game on Saturday, the Gryphons found themselves down 2-0 heading into the third period against Halton. Digging dip and perhaps turning the entire weekend around, the powerplay struck twice in the final period to tie the game at 2. This tie meant if the team took care of business Sunday, they could determine their own fate in where they would finish.

Sunday morning the Gryphons played one of their most complete games of the year, beating the Hamilton Bulldogs 6-0 and securing a spot in the semi finals. However, the team didn't want to just qualify and treated the 4th and final game against Southern Tier as a must win to clinch first. Up 1-0 after two periods the boys played a near perfect third period adding 2 more goals and finishing off the teams third shutout of the weekend.

With a record of 3-0-1 and 14 goals for and 2 against, all 17 Gryphons showed tremendous heart, character, sacrifice and commitment to their teammates on a weekend where every single player contributed to the teams success. Way to go Gryphons you should be proud of yourselves! On to Niagara!
