AE - Novice - Novice AE Win the Orangeville Fall Classic!
Submitted By Tom Schuett on Monday, September 18, 2017
What an exciting weekend for this rookie team!

Before heading into the Orangeville Fall Classic, these boys had only played one game together as a team. They went in green, but they went in with a lot of heart and even more hustle.

They were up against the TNT Tornados first, and despite all their efforts they were defeated 5-0. They didn't let that stop them, they went on to win their next 2 games sending them into the semi-finals.

The semi-finals game against the host team Orangeville Flyers was a nail biter! The Gryphons were up 2-1, and the Flyers scored with only 2 minutes left on the clock! The boys went to a 5 minute overtime with no goals, and then just to ensure they got the FULL tournament experience they went into a shoot-out, winning on the third and final shot!!

It was in the finals Sunday afternoon that the boys faced the TNT Tornadoes once again, but this time, with hustle, great positioning, and goaltending they came out on top winning 5-4!

The team certainly came a long way this weekend. What a great start to the 2017/18 season. Congratulations Novice AE Gryphons!
