AE - Minor Bantam - Oshawa Cup Champions!
Submitted By Corey Brown on Sunday, October 20, 2019
What a weekend! We started the first game with a 8-2 win over Oshawa. Then fought a tough 2-0 loss to Whitby. Day 2 didn’t start the way we wanted with a 3-1 loss to North Durham. Ended the day with a 2-1 loss to Kingston.

We thought we were heading home empty handed. The hockey gods pulled through and Oshawa beat North Durham to put us in a 3 way tie. Due to our boys hard work in keeping all games close we won the tie breaker with the best goal differential. The boys were pumped and fired up even though they had just lost a tough game. We knew we had our work cut out now having to face the undefeated North Humberland team.

Early to bed and early to the rink to get prepared, we were ready to go. We struck first on a power play goal. We never let off the throttle. Fore-checking, back-checking, body checking clearing the zone. Holding off the top 2 scorers of the tournament. We finished with a 1-0 victory. Boys kept loose and had some fun and got ready for the finals where they were gonna get their rematch To Whitby after losing 2-0 the day before. Again this team was ready to go! We struck first, they tied, we scored again, they tied. Then they scored to take a lead. We tied, then we scored. Only this time we didn’t let our guard down. We won our battles, we controlled the puck. As the seconds ticked down our intensity rose. VICTORY!

Guelph Gryphons Mjnor Bantam AE take home the championship!
