Registration & Tryout Updated Information
The GMHA would like to provide a more detailed update on the registration and tryout information currently available. Please see below all information pertaining to registration and tryouts.

Registration:

As per GMHA President, Peter Guth’s note, registration is now open. GMHA is not making it mandatory to make a payment given the current circumstances with COVID-19. You can go online and register still as GMHA needs this information to help us plan for the fall accordingly. Upon the checkout phase of registration, you will be prompted to select a payment plan option with a $0 down payment and the balance to be processed on September 1, 2020. You will be required to enter your credit card information, so the payment on September 1, 2020 can be processed. Your card will not be charged until that date.

For anyone unfamiliar with the registration process, we want to clarify the following.

  1. Registration is a base fee (differing by each age group), that covers the basic costs of jerseys, ice time, referees, and other administrative & miscellaneous expenses that go along with running a hockey association.

  2. EVERYONE playing within the GMHA must register to play. That is inclusive of rep, house league, ADP, Skills Development 1, 2, & 3, and Skating School.

  3. GMHA understands the current circumstances are out of everyone’s control right now and there may be situations where families would like to withdraw their registration at a later date. An email will be sent out prior to the September 1, 2020 payment date to confirm your intentions.

Out of Town Players

With GMHA being a AAA Zone Centre, it is fairly common for non-Guelph resident players to be on Guelph teams. Oftentimes, that player may not have an active Hockey Canada profile within the GMHA Hockey Canada portal. Should this be the case for your family, we ask that you operate as you would have in the past and wait until the tryouts to register. GMHA’s registrar will be in touch with more information about this, should your child make a GMHA team. For those with active profiles that intend on playing in Guelph again this season, you may register with the existing process laid out for Guelph residents.

You can register by clicking here.

Tryouts

Tryouts for the 2020-21 season are a big question mark because the GMHA does not have enough information to provide a detailed response. The Federal & Provincial governments will need to make their decisions on the process for opening up all businesses. Hockey Canada, along with OHF & OMHA, will need to decide and communicate, new guidelines for this year's tryout process. GMHA will abide by the guidelines laid out from these organizations as they are GMHA’s governing bodies.

That all being said, currently Rep Tryout Passes are not available to purchase. GMHA will inform all those that have registered by email, and we will share information on our website and social media channels when updates are available. GMHA recommends that should you wish to try out for a rep or ADP team, that you register now, and wait for an email with more information.

Thank you to all of our members for your patience and understanding as we navigate through all of this. We are all hoping to get our players back on the ice for the 2020-21 season.
