2022-23 Rep Coaching Application Window is Open!
GMHA is now accepting Head Coach applications for the 2022-2023 rep season (AAA-MD/AE teams).  Applications will be accepted until 11:59 pm on January 23rd. Applications submitted after January 23rd will be considered only by availability of positions remaining.

Please fill out the entire application online at the link below.  Emailed applications will not be accepted.

2022-2023 Rep Coach Application

Questions with an asterisk are mandatory.  Please have your one-page Coaching Philosophy/Coaching Motivation, Hockey Resume and an age appropriate 50 min practice plan ready. Provide these documents in either a word or pdf format, as the form will request you to attach. Ensure you have your files as your name (ie: Connor McDavid - Practice Plan). You will receive an email back once submitted as verification that the application has been received.

After the application deadline, the following criteria will be used to complete the coaching application for existing coaches:

1.    Eligibility based on our Rules of Operation

2.    Parent and Player Survey results

3.    Development Team Survey results

4.    Commitment to our Development program

5.    Years of coaching the same age group

GMHA will again use an independent professional group of individuals coming from sports, hockey and HR backgrounds to form the Coach Selection Committee (CSC).  They are nonpartisan, non-board members and are not GMHA employees.   Coaching interviews will begin shortly after the application deadline, however, not all applicants may receive an interview.

At this point, GMHA does not have official OMHA confirmation of the timing of try-outs, however, it is possible that some age groups will have spring try-outs.  While our goal will be to complete the Coaching Selection process as efficiently as possible for all age groups, priority will be given to those teams that will have spring try-outs.

If you are currently a Head Coach, thank you for your commitment and your consideration in applying for a Head Coaching role in 2022-23.  If you are not currently a Head Coach but have been in the past or have an interest in becoming a Head Coach, please give serious consideration to submitting an application for next season.

The current (2021-2022) OMHA qualification requirements for Head Coaches (and team officials) can be found here.

Again, thank you in advance for your consideration. Becoming a Head Coach is a great way of having a positive impact on players in our Association.
