The U15AAA team has picked up some more fans on the other side of the world. The team’s 18th Man, Sadala, has received the care package put together by the boys and he is working hard to get ready for his corrective surgery that will be taking place any day now. The team is also very happy to unofficially add Caleb to their roster.
Earlier this year, the team was so incredibly motivated by Sadala’s story that they fundraised beyond what was required to try to make a bigger positive impact in some way. Little did they know that their extra efforts would benefit Caleb, a 12 year old boy, who broke his femur playing soccer with his friends. Caleb was being treated by a traditional bonesetter and not improving at all. The team’s extra funds were able to pay for Caleb’s surgery to realign and stabilize his femur in addition to paying for his post-op treatment.
The messages from both Sadala’s and Caleb’s family and the smiles on these boys faces have made the first half of the 2022/23 season a success for our U15AAA team.
Pretty cool seeing a Gryphon jersey in Uganda too.
