We are now accepting
Applications for Membership in the Guelph Minor Hockey Association for the upcoming season.
At a recent Special Meeting of the Members, new GMHA By-laws were approved that define formal membership categories and introduce limits on the number of voting Members who are not Directors. These changes are part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, transparency, and community representation.
Membership Categories & Limits:
Under the new By-laws, GMHA membership is limited to:

Up to 25 House/Select/Advance League Representatives (e.g., coaches, assistant coaches, convenors)

Up to 25 Rep Team Representatives (e.g., coaches, assistant coaches, convenors)

Up to 10 Parent, Volunteer, or Athlete Representatives

All current Directors of the Association are automatic Members
Only approved Members are entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and any Special Meetings of the Members. The AGM date is TBD, but will be held towards the end of September.
How to Apply:
If you are interested in becoming a voting Member of GMHA, please complete the official GMHA Membership Application Form, available at [insert link or location].
The deadline to apply is August 15th, 2025.
Important Notes:

If more applications are received than the available positions in any category, members will be selected in accordance with the new GMHA Membership Recruitment and Selection Policy, which may include a merit-based vote or random draw among qualified applicants.

If fewer than the maximum number apply, all eligible applicants will be accepted.

Applicants must not be receiving over $500 in compensation from GMHA to be eligible (unless they are a Director).
We encourage all those actively contributing to the success of GMHA—on the ice, behind the bench, or in volunteer roles—to consider applying.
