GMHA is currently open to applications for the position of Head Coach for the 2026-27 Representative season. GMHA is
redefining development, with the introduction of a new skill building structure for our Players and a primary focus and commitment to Coach development for the 2026-27 season. We’re not just supporting our Coaches; we’re investing in them, building lasting relationships that drive growth, leadership, and long-term excellence within the GMHA community.

U8 & U9 ADP Head Coach Applications will open in early January. Details will be posted on the website.
U10 - U16 Advanced League Head Coach Applications will open in the new year. More details and dates will be provided at the time.

2026-2027 Rep Coach Application Link
Please ensure that you complete all the mandatory questions marked with an asterisk. Additionally, prepare your one-page Coaching Philosophy/Coaching Motivation, Hockey Resume, and an age-appropriate 50-minute practice plan in a PDF format. The application form will prompt you to attach these documents with your name (e.g., Connor McDavid - Practice Plan).
Please submit a resume that includes your Coaching Experience, Coaching Accreditation, and Playing Experience.
Please submit a detailed practice plan. Practice plans will be evaluated on the following: Well drawn and easy to understand, well communicated and explained, WHY explained – how it translates from practice to game, work to rest ratio, ice being used effectively, goalie incorporation, use of assistant coaches and roles defined, small area games, target skills incorporated into practice (passing, skating, offensive zone play/tactics, defensive zone play/tactics), follows Hockey Canada Player Pathway Model for age group.

Following the application deadline, the selection of coaches for existing coaches will be based on the following criteria:
- Eligibility in accordance with our Rules of Operation.
- Results from Parent and Player Surveys.
- Results from the Development Team Survey.
- Commitment to our Development program.
- Years of coaching the same age group.
GMHA will once again appoint an independent professional group, that may consist of individuals with backgrounds in sports, hockey, and HR, to form the Coach Selection Committee (CSC). They are impartial, and non-board members. Coaching interviews will commence shortly after the application deadline, although not all applicants may be interviewed.
Player Evaluations are scheduled to begin following the OHF Championship Weekend, which is set for April 17-19, 2025. Tryout dates for each level are as follows:
U14, U15, & U16
- AAA: Monday, April 20, 2026
- AA: Monday, April 27, 2026
- A: Monday, May 4, 2026
- BB: Monday, May 11, 2026
U10, U11, U12, & U13
- AAA: Saturday, April 18, 2026
- AA: Saturday, April 25, 2026
- A: Saturday, May 2, 2026
- B: Saturday, May 9, 2026
U8 & U9
- April 6, 2026 to April 19, 2026
