U9 (2014) ADP Evaluations

Unlike older age groups (U10 and above), the U9 age group does not hold tryouts. Instead, players participate in an evaluation process for the purpose of placing players into teams based on their current skill level. Evaluations are carried out by GMHA skills coaches, and team coaches are interviewed and selected based on player placement.

Participation in the U9 ADP program is based on desire, not ability, though a requisite level of skill must be met to ensure that each player is ready to effectively participate. Should the U9 ADP program reach maximum capacity, participation may need to be restricted to those players that are best suited for the level of instruction provided.

U9 ADP will have a series of 4 “preparation skates” to be held between September 6th and 18th.  These skates are to help players get back on the ice and prepare for the evaluation skates.  No evaluations will take place during these skates.

These preparation skates are then followed by 4 “evaluation skates” held between September 19th and 30th. Players will be evaluated and placed onto teams by GMHA skills development coaches.

The general timeline for U9 ADP is as follows:

Preparation Skates - Sept 6-18: 4 sessions

Evaluation Skates - Sept 19-30: 4 sessions

Specific dates and times will be provided to all registered families once they are available.

Pricing for Preparation Skates and Evaluations (includes all 8 sessions)

Up to August 22nd (Early Bird) - $160

After August 22nd - $200
