U16 (2008) Rep Tryouts
Please note that because Guelph is both a AAA Zone and a AA Centre, tryouts are broken into 2 separate processes - AAA and AA-BB. All players must enter tryouts at AA; the decision to start at AAA is optional.
AAA tryouts are intended to identify and select the strongest players from the Guelph Zone to form the rosters of our AAA teams from U10-U18. While the tryout process is open to everyone, we ask parents to take into consideration their player's previous level of play when registering.
Beginning the tryout process at AAA may not be for everyone, and attending AAA tryouts solely as a means to access ice-time in advance of AA-BB tryouts creates challenging conditions for coaches and other players.
If you know your child is unlikely to be considered for a roster spot at AAA, we would appreciate if you would strongly consider entering the tryout process at AA.
Though specific dates and times are not yet available, the general timeline will be as follows:
AAA - April 24-30
AA - May 1-7
A - May 8-15
*BB - May 10-20
*Fourth team classification will be determined at a later date.
2nd “A” Entry with Body Contact
“BB” Entry without Body Contact
“C” Entry with Body Contact

Non-Guelph Residents and F1 Waiver/Permission to Skate Players
If you reside outside of Guelph, please note that in order to be eligible to attend tryouts in Guelph as a non-Guelph resident you must provide the proper documentation ahead of time. The registration form will allow you to attach the documentation. If you do not have said documentation during registration, please provide prior to tryouts starting or you will not be allowed to step on the ice.
Players from within the Guelph Zone (ie: Centre Wellington, Woolwich, and Aruthur) require a Permission to Skate Form from their home association.
Players from another OMHA Centre outside of the Guelph Zone require an F1 Waiver from their home AAA Zone for Centres adjacent to Guelph. Review the OHF F1 Waiver process for the specifics of what you may require.
