NotesThe Guelph Gryphon Minor Atom Selects bent, but did not break, surviving a furious comeback by the host Halton Hills Thunder in a spirited game played Monday evening. Leaving parents clutching their chests with excitement, the Gryphons leaped out to a 4-1 lead after the first two periods, then witnessed the home team score two quick goals before Aidan McNaughton finally tallied the fifth goal, giving the visiting side the win.The Gryphons once again dominated play in the early going, keeping the pressure on the Thunder and playing well defensively in their own end. Then a little bit of a lapse allowed the home side to make it close, but the Gryphons tightened up their play in the last few minutes to seal the victory. Jarret Coady and June McCormick shared net duties and played well for the Gryphons, making many fine saves in order to mute the Thunder attack.Good game Gryphons!
