The Guelph Minor Atom Select Junior Gryphons travelled to Rosedale on Tuesday night for a game against the Rosedale Devils. The game was slightly delayed when the refs didn’t show up, but Guelph’s very own assistant coach Tom Post came to the rescue and strapped on his skates to ref the game!

Once the game finally got underway, Rosedale jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a quick goal less than a minute into the game. Guelph countered with four straight goals by Ayden McNaughton, Seamus McVitty, Nathan Stam and Seamus Herron. Rosedale refused to go down without a fight and scored two goals late in the second period to make the score 4-3 Guelph going into the third. A back and forth third period kept everyone on the edge of their seats until Zack Pollard scored half way through the third to restore Guelph’s 2 goal lead. The game was called shortly after that due to curfew, giving Guelph the 5-3 victory. Goalie duties were shared by June McCormick and Jarret Coady. Great game Guelph, we’re off to Flamborough Thursday.
