IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT: SELECT TRYOUTS, SKILLS AND DEVELOPMENT (SD), AND HOUSE LEAUGE U9-U18
With the hockey season quickly upon us, Guelph Minor Hockey Association would like to welcome you to our upcoming season and provide you with important dates pertaining to Select, Skills and Development, and House League for the 2023-2024 season. 

SELECT TRYOUT AND HEAD COACH APPLICATIONS 

Select tryouts schedule has been posted!Select tryouts will start September 5 to September 8, with each age group getting 2 tryout skates, releases may happen after the first skate, depending on numbers and coaches needs. You can find your dates, times and locations by following these instructions: 

1. Go to www.guelphminorhockey.com
2. Under the home page banner, on the red banner, locate SELECT and click on SELECT
3. Select your age group
4. Scroll down to the calendar and select “FULL CALENDAR” on the right side above the calendar
5. Select SEPTEMBER”
6. On the right you will see all events happening for your age group in September, which will show your tryout dates, times and locations.

*Important Information About Select

Please note, that while our objective is to supply the above house league age groups with the opportunity to engage in additional on-ice competition through the Select program, this availability is subject to having enough players to safely create and facilitate those teams. The decision to move forward with Select teams will be at the discretion of the House League Director and members of the Guelph Minor Hockey Association board.

SELECT HEAD COACH APPLICATIONS – IMPORTANT!
We are still looking for Head Coaches for Select. Application close FRIDAY, AUGUST 18 and Select coach interviews will take place between August 21 – 25.

SKILLS AND DEVELOPMENT (SD1, SD2 and SD3) 

Our SD program will start with 2 weekends of evaluation skates in order to properly access each players abilities to ensure we create well-balanced teams. 

Evaluations will take place:
Sept 23/Sept 24
Sept 30/Oct 1 

Start of Regular Season:
Oct 14 


A detailed schedule will be posted and an email will be sent out August 31 that will include locations and times to the evaluation skates as well as what to expect on the ice. 

We are still looking for on ice coaches and assistant coaches as well as a Convenor for SD1. If you are interested, please fill out the House League Volunteer Form here

HOUSE LEAGUE U9 – U18 

Our House League program will start with 2 weekends of evaluation skates in order to properly access each players abilities to ensure we create well-balanced teams and equal play throughout the season.

*Please note: there will be a 2 week “movement” period after the start of regular season that players may be moved around to ensure the teams are well balanced. 

Evaluations will take place:
Sept 23/Sept 24
Sept 30/Oct 1 

Start of Regular Season:
Oct 14 

HOUSE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND:
March 23/24 at the University of Guelph for U10-U18 


A detailed schedule will be posted and an email will be sent out August 31 that will include locations and times to the evaluation skates as well as what to expect on the ice. 

We are actively looking for bench staff for House League at all age groups. If we are not able to obtain more volunteers, will be forced to create waiting lists until we are able to have people step forward to manage the teams. If you are interested in helping, please fill out the House League Volunteer Form here 

We also require Convenors for: U9, U10/11 and U15/16. We have a mentorship program for new Convenors to them manage their division.
